The company estimates that it could get at least a 1 percent improvement in efficiency of monitored turbines from software and network optimization, better dispatching of service, and improved gas/power system harmonization. This may not sound like much, but it would amount to $66 billion in fuel savings over the next fifteen years.

Many executives may admit that big data has the potential to add substantial value to online businesses, but are less sure of the value outside of that domain.
